Nicaraguan delegation at the Woodcraft Folk International Camp

In July and August 2001, the LMLG facilitated a visit by 8 young Nicaraguans and two adult representatives from REMA (the Environmental Network of Masaya) who were invited, funded and hosted by the Leicestershire District Woodcraft Folk to attend the Woodcraft Folk International Camp. The camp focused on the theme of sustainability and provided an opportunity for shared learning around global issues. This was complemented by a residential trip to the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales which the LMLG organised for the Nicaraguan teenagers and 8 students from Leicester. They also visited Judgemeadow Community College and participated in a lively programme of social events.
